Three women in front of westchester hispanic chamber of commerce backgrop  Maria Guerrero, Supervisor of Adult Literacy Programs at Southern Westchester BOCES, has been named one of the Hispanos de Impacto 2025 in the category of Community Service by Kaffury Latin Magazine.

“This recognition is a tribute to your dedication, hard work, and the real impact you have made in our community,” Director Viviana Kaffury stated in her award announcement. “Your story, your efforts, and your commitment inspire us to continue building a path of growth, unity, and representation for Latinos in Westchester and beyond.”

An award ceremony will take place on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Morris Yacht Club in the Bronx.

“It was very unexpected,” said Ms. Guerrero, pictured at right, a frequent attendee of Kaffury’s annual gala. The Magazine is a tremendous supporter of women in the Latino community, she added.

The magazine has nearly 50,000 online monthly readers . Its mission is “to celebrate, connect, and uplift the Latino community of Westchester through stories that inspire, inform, and empower.”

Ms. Guerrero said she and Ms. Kaffury often connect at community events where she represents SWBOCES, including the Hispanic Heritage Festival at Kensico Dam Plaza and Chamber of Commerce events.

“She thinks we are making a big impact in the community and are good role models for students in the community,” Ms. Guerrero said.

She thanked the magazine as well as SWBOCES leadership and staff for their support.

Director of Adult & Community Services Tracy Racicot said the honor is well deserved.

“Our success is a direct result of the dedication of our entire team,” Ms. Racicot said. “Maria’s advocacy on behalf of our students across the communities we serve is worthy of recognition. We certainly appreciate all she does for our programs.”
